The renewal of an emblematic restaurant on the Place de la Bourse

An event in the middle of Bordeaux gastronomy, the Gabriel was taken over in 2020 by the de Boüard de Laforest family: this emblematic family of Saint-Émilion, owner of Château Angélus but also of the starred restaurant of the Logis de la Cadène and the suites prestigious properties of the Maison de la Cadène, devotes its energy to enhancing and promoting the Bordeaux region and its excellent culinary traditions. Le Gabriel is an address founded in 2009 on the sumptuous Place de la Bourse, whose name pays tribute to the architect Jacques Gabriel. President of Angélus and of Logis de la Cadène, Stéphanie de Boüard-Rivoal was seduced by the potential of the establishment and the prestige of its address. Le Gabriel inspired it with exceptional embellishments and total modernization, with the ambition of making the place an essential table on the Bordeaux gastronomic scene. Now closely linked to Château Angélus, the Gabriel is intended to embody excellence, finesse and gluttony. On several levels, the establishment has a tea room on the ground floor and a chic bistro on the first floor, while its gourmet restaurant can be found on the second floor.

A gourmet restaurant, but not only!

The Gabriel Observatory is the gourmet restaurant that invites you to discover the subtle cuisine of starred chef Alexandre Baumard. A private lounge is also available for small groups of up to 8 people to sit down in an intimate atmosphere with a view of the Observatory's kitchen. On the bistro side, we come to taste a regional and generous cuisine, in an atmosphere of great conviviality in which the cuts in the dining room, the dishes to share and the food carts participate. An exceptional view of the vast listed square and a decor of wood, gold and leather make the Gabriel's bistro a chic and warm meeting place in the heart of Bordeaux. Finally, the Gabriel Bar has a tea room, a cocktail bar and a wine bar. It entertains in its cozy interiors or on its magnificent terrace at Place de la Bourse, facing the reflecting pool and the quays on the Garonne. There are also side dishes and pastries from chef Damien Amilien. In a magnificent 18th century building, the Gabriel is thus much more than a Bordeaux restaurant to be discovered occasionally: its cozy bar will spoil you with teas from around the world, subtle cocktails and fine wines by the glass facing the Port de la Lune; its bistro offers daily tempting formulas to taste products from the Southwest with a breathtaking view of the square.
